So here's the driveshaft removal tool.

Four x 6mm threaded rods and some steel rails from an old equipment cabinet -that just happened to be conveniently drilled. The rails were "cross connected" with a couple of reinforcing strips from B&Q.

The cable ties were useful just to make sure things didn't spring apart unexpectedly.

Total cost of the tool was £4.80.
